Pizza
Made to order in a professional oven, one at a time, straight to the table.
pizza. pasta. vino.
A neighbourhood Italian on Breitnerlaan. Pizza from the oven, pasta cooked to order, and a buffet island in the middle of the room that you help yourself to.
Come with the children, come with eight friends, come on a Tuesday because nobody felt like cooking. There is no dress code and no long wine list to work through. You should be able to walk in, eat well and not think about it too much.
It is a custom wooden unit with a shelf for plates, sitting right in the centre of the restaurant. You get up, you take what you want, you sit back down. That is the whole system.
Pizza and pasta are made to order at the table. Tell us what you want and it goes straight to the oven.
The buffet island is open through lunch and dinner. Go once, go five times, nobody is counting.
Children can leave the table without leaving the room. There is no rush to turn it over.
A pizza oven, a pasta cooker and a buffet. The list stays short so the kitchen can keep it good on a full Saturday.
Made to order in a professional oven, one at a time, straight to the table.
Cooked when you order it, not held in a tray. Half portions for smaller appetites.
Antipasti, salads, warm dishes and dolci, refilled through the whole service.
Not a basket of crayons in the corner. A real play space built into the restaurant, with large interior glass windows so you can see them from your table while you finish your plate.
Walls and ceilings in a soft off white, one wall tiled for texture, round backlit mirrors that open the space up, and tomato red chairs against the warm neutrals.
The original wooden bar, refinished in a light patina, with new stools in black metal and pale wood. A good place to wait for a table or stop in for one glass.
A separate room for birthdays, work dinners and family lunches. Reeded glass in the window frames keeps it private while the daylight comes through.
A fixed bench along the façade with round tables, large trees in terracotta planters, parasols for the sun and heaters for the rest of the year.
Everything hot is made when you order it. The buffet island runs the whole service and changes with the week, so what is on it today is not exactly what was on it yesterday.
The menu is being finalised with the kitchen. Pizza from the oven, pasta cooked to order and the buffet island, with prices and allergens, will be here before we open.
LOF has fed this street for years. The building stays, the neighbourhood stays, the kitchen changes.
The address started as a neighbourhood bistro on Breitnerlaan, the sort of place people walked to rather than drove to.
It carried on under a new name and kept the same role in the street, a table you could get to without planning your week around it.
Taken on by YOUNG in July 2026 and being rebuilt now. Same roof, Italian kitchen, a buffet island in the middle and a proper room for the children.
The kitchen got smaller so the children could get a room of their own. The bar was stripped back and refinished. The artificial flowers went, the old spotlights went, and the walls were repainted in a soft off white so the light does more of the work.
What stayed is the furniture worth keeping. Most of the tables and chairs are the original ones, with twelve new red chairs added where the room needed the colour.
LOF Italia is one of the hospitality concepts run by YOUNG in Den Haag, alongside Runners, Italo Disco and Bitterkoud, with shared purchasing, a central production kitchen and a team that moves between the houses.
The kids corner is built into the restaurant, not tucked away behind it. Large interior glass windows mean the children can play while you stay at the table and still see them.
Climbing elements and a larger climbing wall, for the ones who cannot sit still through a whole dinner.
LEGO and DUPLO, so it works for the four year olds and the nine year olds at the same table.
A small playhouse and a play rug with a hopscotch and a Hot Wheels track printed into it.
Drawing and colouring materials, and a small treat for them on the way out.
The private room takes a group on its own, which makes it an easy room for a children's birthday, a family lunch or a table of twelve that would take over the restaurant otherwise.
Tell us how many you are and roughly what you need, and we will come back to you rather than send you a package to choose from.
We are not open yet. Reservations open closer to the opening date. Follow us on Instagram and you will be the first to know.

A separate room for groups, with reeded glass in the window frames so it stays private without losing the daylight.
The kids corner is visible from the dining room through large interior glass windows, so nobody has to leave their plate.
Breitnerlaan is a residential street in Den Haag, easy on foot or by bike from the surrounding neighbourhoods.
LOF Italia is opening on Breitnerlaan. While the building is being remodelled, we are putting the team together. Kitchen, floor and bar, full time and part time. Experience helps, but the way you treat a table on a busy Saturday matters more.
Working here means working inside YOUNG, so people move between the houses, learn from other kitchens and grow into bigger roles when they are ready.
Taking orders, running plates, keeping an eye on the buffet island and on the tables with children.
On the oven through service, with a kitchen built around getting pizzas out one at a time.
Pasta section, prep and the buffet, working with the central production kitchen behind it.
Coffee, aperitivo and wine by the glass, on a short list that is meant to be quick.
